What is Pods?
Welcome to Pods, WCT's unique mentoring circles program that draws on the organization's 30+ years of experience supporting women's advancement.
In this program, each mentor is matched with a Pod of approximately five mentees. Throughout the six sessions, mentors guide the discussion using provided resources, instructions, and discussion prompts.
What's unique about this application? Your Pod will include one highly-qualified underemployed woman from WCT's new ConnectAB program. We're including underemployed women in select Pods, so they can build skills and a powerful network that will help them secure a great new role.
Why Pods?
Orcas live in close-knit groups, known as pods, with a female whale at the helm. Just like the female orca does her pod, you'll help the women in your Pod, navigate unchartered waters!
Give Back & Get Support
Whether you're a first-time or experienced mentor, you'll be supported too! We provide mentor resources, reading materials, and discussion prompts to guide you—plus you get to build your network by connecting with other mentors.
Multi-Way Learning Opportunity
Our unique Pods model encourages both mentors and mentees to harness the power of group dynamics and learn from each other.
Hone Your Leadership Skills
By leading your Pod every session, you'll naturally practice your leadership skills in an authentic, intimate environment.
Your Membership is On Us!
Mentors receive a complimentary one-year WCT Membership that includes access to WCT Connect, our digital community that offers exclusive events and resources.
Q: Who can apply to be a mentor?
A: Anyone with over five years of work experience, who is in a manager role or more senior position.
Q: I’ve never been a mentor before, is this for me?
A: You don’t need mentoring experience; we provide training, resources, and support for mentors. Each session has a predefined topic, participant resources, and discussion prompts. Plus, Pods is designed to leverage the power of peer mentoring, so the pressure is not just on the mentor.
Q: How does Pods differ from 1:1 mentoring?
A: Pods pairs a small group of women who are at similar career stages with one mentor who is more experienced or in a senior role. Each session is thoughtfully guided by WCT, then each Pod discusses the topic together. This allows mentees to peer-mentor, support, and encourage one another alongside their mentor and allows everyone to gain from diverse perspectives.
Q: What topics will be covered?
A: This year, our topics will help women understand their values and their why, then learn to step into their unique power to build a career vision they love.
